This morning I was holding James as Kirk was leaving for work, and James looked at Kirk and said, "Kiss, Sandwich?". I guess Sandwich Kiss is a term Kirk said once that he remembered. It means that kirk kisses one cheek while I kiss the other, and we smother him with hugs and kisses- he just giggles and loves it. :) We did this several times this morning because James kept saying "Kiss, sandwich, more please!". So cute.
This week he has discovered that he really likes raisins, he even chose them over blueberries in his oatmeal which is pretty huge.
One of my favorite things about James is his gentleness with toys. He has been having some fits lately, typical toddler stuff, and he does throw his toys and go a little crazy sometimes. However, most of the time he is very gentle with toys and he likes to put stuff back in the exact place that he took it from. He loves trains right now and before we leave the house he will take his trains back and set them on the track and say "Bye Thomas!".
He's so gentle most of the time, in fact, that I've taken him to a friends house twice lately for a session, and he played quietly in the background of the same room I was recording a vocal in. Pretty special for an almost 2 year old if you ask me!
He doesn't like it when I play and sing with him around, UNLESS he can dictate what I'm singing. I think he knows that my full attention is not on him so he tries to change my focus- He'll throw words out there like truck, train, thomas, bulldozer, etc. and gets such a kick out of it when I insert those words into the song I'm singing. For example the other day I was practicing "Power in the Blood" for church and by the end I was singing, "Fire truck, Fire truck, Wonder working firetruck.... in the blood of the lamb.... etc." Ha!
And possibly our favorite new "jamesism" is the way he says "See me?" , "Mama, see me?", when he wants attention. Yes James, we see you. :)
Just checking in while I have an hour to myself and needed to put my feet up :) Your James is getting so big and I love that you have a truck loving boy too :) Pretty excited for him to be a big brother also!!! Hope you are well :)
